Bluebook renewal and third party insurance services 

Struggling with long lines and paperwork for bluebook renewals and insurance? eSewa has introduced the Bluebook Renewal and Third-party Insurance services. These new services, available in Kathmandu Valley, allow you to renew your bluebook and get third-party insurance coverage without any additional service fees. You’ll only pay the government taxes, renewal fees, and the third-party insurance premium. 

This blog summarizes the process of using the service, the premium rates for third-party insurance and terms and conditions for the services. 

Process of using services.  

1. Login to your eSewa account.  
2. Search for Bluebook renewal, Third party insurance, Free bluebook renewal (any term) at the search bar. (located at top of eSewa Homepage) 
3. Fill out the form with information about your vehicle. 
4. The app will calculate the total amount for taxes, renewal fees, and insurance as per your need. Once you review the amount, proceed with the payment. 
5. You will be contacted to arrange pick-up of your bluebook for renewal. You’ll also be contacted if there are any discrepancies in the amount. 
6. If you are interested in getting comprehensive insurance, you can fill in the form.  
7. Once everything is processed, you will receive renewed bluebook, receipt, and third-party insurance policy to your preferred location.  

Third party insurance  

Currently, eSewa offers mandatory third-party insurance coverage in partnership with Himalayan Everest Insurance (HEI). You can find the premium rates for different vehicle types on a table within the eSewa app. 

Terms and conditions 

• The calculated amount might vary slightly from the final tax amount. You can verify this with the government receipt provided. Any overpayment will be refunded, and underpayments will need to be settled before making the payment to Yatayat office.  
• The entire process, from collecting your bluebook to delivery, typically takes 3-4 working days. 
• Third Party Insurance is mandatory for now to avail the no service charge for bluebook.  
• The tax rates used in the calculation are specific to Bagmati Province. They might be different in other provinces. 
• eSewa cannot be held responsible for fines incurred within 3 working days of your payment. Ensure your bluebook is provided with ample time. 
• Please double-check all documents upon delivery. 
• This service is currently available in Kathmandu valley.  
• Your contact details will be shared with a third party for the pick-up and delivery of the bluebook document.
